SPORTS STYLE

This was a style that evolved while working on a project for ESPN's 30 for 30 program. It started as a Saul Bass homage and morphed into a look that concentrated on producing recognizable likenesses of the sports figures. It's been employed since then for a documentary about the Nebraska Huskers and a Diana Taurasi tribute. For the first two, I supplied the raw artwork which was handed off to other animators. For the Taurasi job, I was given the opportunity to animate.

Day by Day: The Nebraska Huskers Documentary
This was an illustration job with elements separated out for use in simple animation so the compositions tended to be wide shots that could then be panned around and zoomed in. Likeness and the Huskers brand were a focus.
30 for 30 episode: Heavy Medals about the Károlyi camp scandal.
I used a more penciled style for this first application. Color and motion were completed by Francisco Carballo for the final animation.
